Additional Information

Interest-free overdraft

Upfront interest-free overdraft of €650 (0% variable) available for Ulster Bank student customers upon application and approval. You can actually apply for up to €2,800 (for students depending on your year of study) and €1,500 for graduates. You can ask to have your limit lowered or raised at any time.

Discounted personal loans

Student expenses can add up and even after college the transition from student to graduate can be an expensive time. Why not relax a little with the knowledge that you can request a discounted personal loan.

Commission-free travel money

This service allows you to buy or change foreign currency at any Ulster Bank branch without paying the usual commission.

Pay for goods and services

Use your debit card to pay in shops or on the internet. Note: Government stamp duty applies: Servicecard €5.00 per annum and Cashcard €2.50 per annum. This is not an Ulster Bank charge.

Pay bills

It's easy to set up Standing Orders and Direct Debits on your account either online or at branch.

Credit Card

A responsible credit limit of €450, if we accept your application and no annual fee makes this credit card a handy little extra in your wallet. 17.9% APR (variable) on purchases and balance transfers and 22.9% APR (variable) on cash advances from the date of account opening. Representative 34.6% APR (Variable). APR is inclusive of Government Stamp Duty (Currently €30). If the total amount of credit provided is €450, The total amount you will have to pay is €491.53 if you repay this amount in 12 equal monthly payments of €40.96 .

Withdraw cash

You're never far from your money. You can also check your balance, or get a mini statement from an Ulster Bank cash machine.

Important Information

Student Account is only available to full time (minimum course length 1 year, maximum six years), third level students, resident in the Republic of Ireland, aged 17 or over or graduates Only one student account per student. The overdraft facility must be repaid within one year of course completion.

The Graduate Package is available to persons aged 18 or over or who have graduated from a full time course of higher education, lasting 2 years or more, within the last 12 months. In the month of July, the year after your graduation (as specified in our Graduate brochure, as amended from time to time) subject to our assessment of your financial position, the Graduate Account will be converted to a Current Account. We will write to you sixty days before we do this.

Interest free Overdraft (0% variable): is repayable on demand, security may be required. The overdraft facility must be repaid within one year of course completion, provided the course does not exceed six years. The overdraft must not be exceeded without prior agreement of Ulster Bank. If the account goes into an unauthorised overdraft or exceeds an authorised overdraft, surcharge interest will be applied on any balance above the overdraft limit. Travel Money: Applies to Branch transactions only - not ATM machines. Commission free travel money (foreign exchange) applies to Ulster Bank over-the counter branch transactions only for the customer's own use. Offer does not apply to transactions on foreign currency accounts, bank drafts, credit cards or foreign exchange transactions conducted via any other Ulster Bank products or services. Foreign exchange is subject to terms and conditions available on request from any Ulster Bank branch.

Credit Card: Rates and information correct as at 11th June 2010 and are subject to change. Minimum repayment needed is 3% or €5, whichever is more.

Debit card: We apply a foreign-exchange fee of 1.5% of transaction value (excluding transactions made within the Eurozone). You will also be charged 2% of the value of your cash withdrawal with a minimum charge of €3.00 and a maximum charge of €12.00. This does not include any additional fees that a merchant or cash machine owner may impose on the customer for using this service.
