urmoney account (12 - 17) - Overview

Build up the savings habit.

  • Start small - you can open an account with just €5.
  • Watch your money grow - with the interest we pay, your money will soon grow. Interest is paid into your account quarterly.
  • Save when you like - if you'd like to make a regular contribution, you can set up a Standing Order. Or you can just pay in what you want, when you want.
  • Instant access - your money is there when you need it, with unlimited free withdrawals. You can apply for your own cash card so that you can check your balance, order a statement or take out money whenever you want from any Ulster Bank cash machine. (If you're under 16 and want a cash card, you'll need a parent or guardian to sign the application form.)

All returns are subject to Deposit Interest Retention Tax (DIRT). Under current legislation, the effective DIRT rate is 25%.

Gross is the interest rate paid before the deduction of tax.

Annual Equivalent Rate (AER) illustrates what the interest rate would be if paid and compounded each year.

Anyone aged 12-17 years can open an urmoney account.
