What services are available
There's now even more ways to bank with us
We’ve introduced the option to access a number of Ulster Bank services at 1,100 An Post outlets across Ireland so banking with us is even easier.
You can access the following services:
- Lodge cash using a barcoded personalised credit slip or your Debit Card
- Lodge cheques* using a barcoded personalised credit slip
*Cheque lodgement option is available at designated An Post outlets only.
All customers that use credit books for their banking services will need to order a new barcoded credit book to use An Post Services.
Using an An Post outlet
The level of service may differ at each An Post outlet as the Cheque lodgement option is available at designated An Post outlets only and is subject to different cut-off times depending on the outlet
Transactions carried out at An Post will take longer to be credited to your account, than if they were made in an Ulster Bank branch
Cash lodged through An Post will be credited to your Ulster Bank account within 2 hours if lodged in An Post before 3:30pm. Cash lodgements received after this time will be credited by 10am on the next business day
Business customers can lodge up to €49,999 per cash transaction (pre-notification to An Post may be required)
Cheques lodged through An Post will be credited to your Ulster Bank account on the next business day. Cheques lodged on a Saturday will be credited on Tuesday (or Wednesday if Monday is a Bank Holiday)
New barcoded credit books will replace existing Ulster Bank credit books and can be used in both Ulster Bank branches and An Post outlets
Cash and cheques must be lodged as separate transactions in An Post, and not together on the same barcoded personalised credit slip
For Business customers using An Post, the separation of cash and cheque lodgements means that a manual transaction charge will be generated for each credit slip used. Our Standard Business Current Account transaction fees apply - please see our brochure 'A Guide to Business Current Account Fees' or visit www.ulsterbank.ie for more information
Customers cannot withdraw funds or check their balance at an An Post outlet
An Post staff have no visibility of customer details and therefore cannot answer queries on accounts
A maximum of €200 in coin may be lodged per transaction at An Post’s discretion
Foreign/non-Euro cash cannot be accepted by An Post for lodging to Ulster Bank accounts
Foreign/non-Euro cheques cannot be accepted by An Post for lodging to Ulster Bank accounts
Ulster Bank "Fast Lodgement" envelopes cannot be accepted by An Post
