No need for a card reader to pay someone new

Need to pay a friend or tradesman? You can use your app to pay anyone up to €1,000 with just their account number and sort code. You don’t need a card reader or to have paid them before using Anytime Banking.

Your step-by-step guide:


  1. Open your Ulster Bank app, tap on the account you want to make a payment from, select 'Payments' and then 'Make a payment'.
  2. Tap ‘Select payee’ on Apple devices or ‘Choose payee’ on Android devices and then tap 'Pay someone new' and put in the name and account details of the person you want to pay.
  3. Choose the amount you wish to send, add a reference for the payment and the choose the date you want to send the money on, now or in the future. Tap on ‘Make payment’ for Apple devices and ‘Next’ on Android devices.
  4. For added security you may be asked to authorise this payment. If this happens you will see the ‘Authentication required’ screen. Just tap ‘Next’ then re-enter your mobile app’s log in details, to re-confirm it’s you.
  5. Check the details on screen are correct then tap ‘Make payment’ on Apple devices and ‘Next’ on Android devices, then tap ‘Make payment’ again.
  6. That’s your payment complete! You can save or send a PDF copy of the payment once it's sent, if you want to keep a record of it.


Important information


Payments under €1,000 can be saved on the mobile app and will also show in Anytime Banking for future use. You must be aged 16 or over and there is a maximum of 5 payments totalling €1,000 per day. 


You’ll be charged €0.20 per transaction made via Mobile Banking if you don’t meet the current account fees and charges waiver criteria. For more information please visit our current account fees and charges page



Get Cash from a cash machine without your debit card

Get Cash allows you to withdraw money from a cash point without using your bank card. It’s perfect for those times when you need small amounts of cash but don’t have your wallet or purse to hand.

How does it work?

Get Cash allows you to quickly choose an amount of cash that you would like to withdraw from within the app. 


We will then provide you with a secure cash code that will be valid for 3 hours and can be used at any Ulster Bank or Easycash cash machine to withdraw your money. You can use this cash code yourself or text it to someone else. 


This service can only be used twice a day and you can only have one cash code at any one time. If the code expires, the funds will re-credit your account within 24 hours.


Important Information:

  • Get Cash allows a maximum withdrawal limit of €130 every 24 hours and this must be within the daily withdrawal limit for your debit card.
  • There is a maximum limit of 2 Get Cash withdrawals per day.
  • You must have at least €10 available funds to withdraw from your account (including any overdraft facility).
  • We must have your correct mobile number in our records.
  • You must have an active debit card for your account.

Get Cash is available on iPhone and Android devices.


You’ll be charged €0.35 for each ATM cash withdrawal in Euro within SEPA (including Get Cash transactions) if you don’t meet the current account fees and charges waiver criteria. For more information please visit our current account fees and charges page

Credit card improvements

We've made some great improvements to our mobile app, helping you to better manage your credit card.

You can now:


1. View an improved summary showing the payments made since your last statement and how much you still need to pay.


2. Improved notifications to let you know if you're approaching your credit limit.
